Patient Care Technician Job career training course School

What is Patient Care Technician (PCT)? Patient care technicians have a vital role in caring for patients under the supervision of a doctor, registerd nurse or other medical staff. The patient care technician helps the nursing staff and other medical team with examination, treatment and general medical care of patients.

The PCT training program at Safety Keeper Career Training Institute: is designed to prepare students for employment as advanced cross trained nursing assistants (patient care technicians),

Our patient care technician training program covers:

  •  Health Science Core,
  •  Articulated Nursing Assistant,
  •  Advanced Home Health Aide,
  • Patient Care Assistant,
  • Allied Health Assistant,
  • Advanced Allied Health Assistant
  • (EKG and Phlebotomy),
  • Patient Care Technician.

State Certification/License: Upon successful completion of the Nursing Assistant module. If you're not currently a Certified Nursing Assistant, your instructor will assist you with scheduling a Competency State exam under our institution FBON State License number to be State licensed also known as CNA licensed. *There is a separate charge for this exam, which is paid to the State, not to the School.

About PCT/Phlebotomy/EKG Certification: Upon completion of the PCT program, students will also be eligible to take a competency exam with the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) to become CPCT Technician, Phlebotomy Technician, and/or EKG Technician *There is a separate charge for these exams, which is paid to NHA, not to the School.* unless if you take the course package that include your NHA exam fee (s)..

Program Structure: The standard length of the entire program is 600 hours.

Program Credential: Diploma and other CEUs Certifiactes

Laboratory Activities: At Safety Keeper Career Training Institute Laboratory activities are an integral part of this program. Students will perform nursing skills in a clinical setting for approximately one-half of the program, under the supervision of a qualified registered nurse instructor

Job Opportinuties: As a Patient Care Technician, you'll have a career that opens the door to a broad variety of great opportunities. As a PCT yocnau might choose to work for a public or private hospital, urgent care, clinics, rehabilitation centers, nursing home, home healthcare agency, hospice, assisted-living facility, or long-term care facility,  just to name a few.  

All these organizations call for Patient Care Technicians in order to make certain that the well-being and ppcarotection of their patients.

Advancement: a Patient Care Technician is a step closer to the nursing or healthcare career ranking.
